Traveling to Qatar or any place in the world is a fun, new experience that opens your eyes to new culture, sights and environment. Along with this new environment is the presence of danger not just to your health, but to your personal being. Here are a few things to remember to avoid dangerous situations during your vacation.

1. Do as the Locals Do
Remember, you do not know this place except for a few pictures and the fame of its sights, sounds, food and culture. When the locals avoid one place, it would be best to do so as well. You could ask local police or authorities for any potential danger zones in the places you visit.

2. Dress Accordingly
Some countries abhor clothing that exposes certain parts of the body. Perverted criminals do not spare women tourists and travellers. Dress accordingly. Wearing jeans and loose-enough clothing will help you not just be comfortable, but also help you be safe.

3. Identity Theft
Your bank might have branches worldwide and you might be able to access your accounts through any terminal. Take care to shred all your statements or hide them in a secure area, such as a deposit box in a hotel. Ensure to log out your accounts in public Internet cafes. In all cases, avoid logging in unsecured servers except in your own private terminal.

4. Be Mindful of Surroundings
Always be aware of the eyes looking at you and your companions. The more you mind your surroundings, the more you could anticipate trouble easily at any time. It is fine to enjoy your vacation, but from time to time, see to it that you are enjoying it in a secure place.
