Airport securities both departing and arriving ensure that all travellers’ baggage are properly inspected, taken into inventory and released to avoid the risk of property theft. Property theft is the common cause of identity theft, but some criminals go the extra mile and could probably steal your financial and information regarding your business ventures through the following.

Credit/ Billing Statements
The moment you leave your billing statements somewhere in your hotel room or the trash bin just right beside the ATM, you are putting yourself at risk. Billing statements may contain certain information about you that will need to be shredded entirely to avoid the risk of people knowing about your credit and billing information.

Vaults
Keep your valuables, especially your identification and other information in the vault most hotels could provide you. It would be better to open a safe in the bank to allow you to keep your items that only you can open.

Only Use Your First Name
You should only use your first name or the name you have that is very common among many people to avoid potential criminals from looking you up in online databases, which might allow them to hack your financial accounts.

Borrowing
Never let anybody else use your credit or debit card and tell them the passcode. Regardless of trust, it is best that you are the only one to keep tabs on your credit to ensure its safety.
